SavvyScan ("we," "our," or "us") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our SavvyScan mobile application (the "App") on iOS devices.

Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with our practices, please do not use the App.

We reserve the right to modify this Privacy Policy at any time. Changes will be effective when posted in the App and on our website. Your continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information that you provide directly to us and information automatically collected when you use the App.

1.1 Information You Provide to Us

Account Information: When you create an account with SavvyScan, we collect:

• Email address
• Password (encrypted and securely stored)
• Display name (optional)

User-Generated Content:

• Products you scan (UPC codes)
• Products you save to favorites or wishlists
• Search queries
• Feedback and support communications

Subscription Information:

• Subscription status (Free or Premium)
• Note: Payment information is processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not collect or store your credit card information, billing address, or other payment details.

1.2 Information Automatically Collected

Usage Data: We collect analytics information about how you interact with the App, including features used, scan frequency, time spent in the App, navigation patterns, settings, device type, operating system version, app version, crash reports, error logs, and IP address.

Device Information: Device model, iOS version, unique device identifiers (for analytics and crash reporting only), screen size and resolution (for UI optimization).

Location Information: We do NOT collect precise GPS location. However, we may infer your general region (city or state level) from your IP address to provide relevant local retailer prices. This location information is not stored long-term.

1.3 Information We Do Not Collect

• We do not access your camera roll or photo library
• We do not access your contacts
• We do not collect biometric data
• We do not track you across other apps or websites
• We do not collect information about children (see Section 8)

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide and improve the App
• Enable barcode scanning and product recognition
• Display product information, reviews, and prices
• Maintain your scan history and saved products
• Sync your data across devices (if logged in)
• Provide customer support
• Verify your Premium subscription status
• Understand how users interact with the App
• Identify and fix bugs and crashes
• Comply with legal obligations
• Enforce our Terms of Use
• Protect against fraud, abuse, or illegal activity

3. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for marketing purposes.

We may share your information only in the following limited circumstances:

Service Providers: We work with trusted third-party companies to help operate the App, including cloud hosting providers, analytics services, and product data providers. These service providers have access only to the information necessary to perform their functions and are contractually obligated to protect your data.

Legal Requirements: We may disclose your information if required by law, such as in response to a court order, subpoena, or legal process, to comply with government requests, to enforce our Terms of Use, or to protect rights, property, or safety.

Business Transfers: If SavvyScan is acquired by or merged with another company, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you of any change in ownership.

4. Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you services. Account data is retained until you delete your account. Free users' scan history includes the 10 most recent scans; Premium users have unlimited scan history retained until account deletion.

You can delete your account and all associated data at any time through the App (Settings > Account > Delete Account) or by contacting us at support@savvyscan.app.

5. Data Security

We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical security measures to protect your information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction, including encryption of data in transit (TLS/SSL), encryption of sensitive data at rest, secure authentication mechanisms, regular security assessments, and limited employee access to personal data.

However, no method of electronic storage or internet transmission is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on your location, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information:

• Access: Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you
• Correction: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information
• Deletion: Request deletion of your account and personal data
• Portability: Request a copy of your data in a machine-readable format
• Opt-Out: Opt out of marketing communications

7. Third-Party Services

The App integrates with third-party services for certain functionality, including Apple App Store for subscription processing and payment (governed by Apple's Privacy Policy) and product data providers for product information, pricing, and reviews.

The App may contain links to third-party websites or retailers. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these external sites. We encourage you to review their privacy policies.

8. Children's Privacy

SavvyScan is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under 13 without parental consent, we will take steps to delete that information as quickly as possible.

9. California Privacy Rights (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you have specific rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA):

10. International Data Transfers

SavvyScan is based in the United States. If you access the App from outside the United States, your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States or other countries where our service providers operate. By using the App, you consent to the transfer of your information to countries outside your country of residence, which may have different data protection laws.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements, or other factors. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy in the App and on our website, updating the "Last Updated" date, and sending an email notification (if you have an account).

Your continued use of the App after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.

Agreement to Terms

These Terms of Use ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you and SavvyScan ("Company," "we," "our," or "us") regarding your use of the SavvyScan mobile application (the "App") on iOS devices.

BY DOWNLOADING, INSTALLING, OR USING THE APP, YOU AGREE TO BE BOUND BY THESE TERMS. IF YOU DO NOT AGREE TO THESE TERMS, DO NOT USE THE APP.

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes via the App or email. Your continued use after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

1. License to Use the App

1.1 Grant of License

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download, install, and use the App on iOS devices that you own or control, solely for your personal, non-commercial use.

1.2 License Restrictions

You agree NOT to:

• Modify, adapt, translate, or create derivative works of the App
• Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to derive source code from the App
• Remove, alter, or obscure any copyright, trademark, or other proprietary notices
• Use the App for any illegal or unauthorized purpose
• Use the App in violation of any applicable laws or regulations
• Rent, lease, lend, sell, redistribute, or sublicense the App
• Use the App to compete with or build a competitive product or service
• Use automated systems (bots, scrapers) to access the App
• Interfere with or disrupt the App's functionality or servers
• Transmit viruses, malware, or other harmful code
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the App or related systems

1.3 Apple App Store Terms

Your use of the App is also subject to the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions and Apple's Usage Rules. If these Terms conflict with Apple's terms, Apple's terms control with respect to your use of the App.

2. Accounts and Registration

2.1 Account Creation

To access certain features, you must create an account. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information; maintain and update your information to keep it accurate; maintain the security and confidentiality of your password; notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account; and be responsible for all activities under your account.

2.2 Account Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time if you violate these Terms, engage in fraudulent, abusive, or illegal activity, we are required to do so by law, or we discontinue the App or service. You may delete your account at any time through the App settings.

3. Subscriptions and Payments

3.1 Subscription Plans

SavvyScan offers both a free version and a Premium subscription with enhanced features. Subscription details and pricing are described in the App and on our website.

3.2 Payment Processing

All subscription purchases are processed through the Apple App Store and are subject to Apple's payment terms. We do not directly process payments or store your payment information.

3.3 Subscription Terms

• Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period
• Your Apple ID account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period
• You can manage or cancel your subscription through your Apple ID account settings
• Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period
• No refunds for partial periods if you cancel mid-cycle

3.4 Free Trial

Premium subscriptions may include a free trial period. You will be charged the subscription fee when the trial ends unless you cancel before the trial period expires. We reserve the right to limit free trial eligibility.

3.5 Refunds

All purchases are final and non-refundable except as required by law. For refund requests, contact Apple Support, as all payments are processed through the App Store. We do not control Apple's refund policies.

4. Product Information and Pricing

4.1 Information Accuracy

The App provides product information, pricing, reviews, and other data obtained from third-party sources. While we strive for accuracy, we do not guarantee that all information is accurate, complete, current, or error-free.

PRODUCT PRICES, AVAILABILITY, AND DESCRIPTIONS ARE PROVIDED FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY. ALWAYS VERIFY PRODUCT DETAILS AND FINAL PRICES WITH THE RETAILER BEFORE MAKING A PURCHASE.

4.2 No Purchase Guarantee

The App is an informational tool. We do not sell products, fulfill orders, or guarantee product availability. We are not responsible for any purchases you make based on information from the App.

4.3 Third-Party Retailers

The App may provide links to third-party retailer websites and stores. We are not responsible for the content, policies, or practices of third parties. Transactions with third parties are solely between you and that third party.

5. Intellectual Property Rights

The App and all content, features, and functionality are owned by SavvyScan or our licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark, patent, and other intellectual property laws. SavvyScan, the SavvyScan logo, and other marks are trademarks of SavvyScan. You may not use these marks without our prior written permission. Apple, iPhone, App Store, and related marks are trademarks of Apple Inc.

6. Disclaimers and Limitations of Liability

6.1 "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE"

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, OR THAT THE APP WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE.

6.2 Limitation of Liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SAVVYSCAN AND ITS AFFILIATES, OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, AND LICENSORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, OR USE, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE APP.

TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE APP WILL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR $100, WHICHEVER IS GREATER.

7. Termination

You may stop using the App and delete your account at any time through the App settings. We may suspend or terminate your access to the App at any time, with or without notice, for any reason. Upon termination, your right to use the App immediately ceases, and we may delete your account and User Data (subject to data retention obligations).

8. Dispute Resolution

8.1 Informal Resolution

Before filing a formal claim, you agree to contact us at support@savvyscan.app to attempt to resolve any dispute informally.

8.2 Governing Law

9. Apple-Specific Terms

You acknowledge that:
